9/11 Mastermind

The news claims that Professed 9/11 mastermind to be tried at Gitmo. They are referring to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed not Osama bin Laden. Khalid is from Pakistan not Afghanistan. After being tortured in Guantanamo bay he confessed to the 9/11 attacks as well as several other bombings. Aside from the fact that I think it is a bogus confession, the point is if he's the 9/11 mastermind, then why did we invade Afghanistan? For the oil or the opium?

Torture in Afghanistan

Ottawa continues to try to block the release of uncensored documents discussing their knowledge, support and legal liability of prisoners being tortured in Afghanistan. One source who claims to have seen the uncensored documents claims the reason the government is trying to block the release of that information is because not only does it prove they knew about the torture, they wanted it to happen.

There are a few points I'd like to make. First, I completely oppose torture. Second, I think it's totally hypocritical that the federal liberals are making a big deal about this when their chosen leader has gone on record saying he supports torture of terrorist suspects. The Harper government denied it but the Ignatief government would boldly and openly endorse it. Both are wrong.

Some people can rationalize torturing terrorist suspects because they are cold blooded murders and lives will be lost if they are not tortured. Roughing them up a bit is one thing but torture is another. Then there's the innocent until proven guilty thing. What about Operation Northwoods and all the false flag terrorist attacks in history? What if the purpose of the torture is to get a fake confession to something the suspect didn't do? That would change things considerably. That is one of the reasons I oppose torture. I believe that has happened in the past and the Toronto 18 is indeed suspect.

Torturing prisoners in Afghanistan is wrong because our very presence there has become suspect. If they really were responsible for 9/11 then the war is valid. However, there is a wealth of scientific evidence which makes that presumption suspect. We all know the invasion of Iraq was about oil not weapons of mass destruction. MI 6 were caught red handed putting false information into the media about Iraq's WMD in Operation Mass Appeal which proved to be false.

Likewise, the bin Laden confession video didn't even look like bin Laden. The bin Laden family gave Bush start up money for his family's defunct oil company in Texas and actually helped build the WTC in New York. Prior to 9/11 Texan oil Barron's from Unocal were wining and dining the Taliban trying to win the contract for the oil pipeline called Centgas, Central Asia Gas Pipeline that was to be built through Afghanistan piping oil from Turkmenistan to Pakistan. The two companies competing for the project were Unocol from the U.S. and Bridas from Argentina.

Although an agreement with Unocal-led corporation CentGas was reached, the deal was forfeited in January 1998 in favor of one with Bridas. Instability in Afghanistan delayed construction of the pipeline, however, and following the United States Invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, the Bridas contract was rescinded in favor of the former one with Unocal.

There we have it. Unocol lost the contract with the Taliban to build the oil pipeline through Afghanistan in January 1998 to Bridas, an Argentina firm. After the invasion of Afghanistan, Unocol was given the contract again in October 2001. Do the math. Iraq's war for oil revisited.

So notwithstanding the religious extremism in Afghanistan and notwithstanding the many wonderful people who have given their lives to that struggle, the whole mission is fundamentally suspect and Michael Ignatieff, the devil incarnate, teaches torture is OK so it is totally hypocritical for the Liberal government to complain about something they would publicly endorse. Nevertheless, we need to stop our participation in torture. Especially when it is done to obtain false confessions. "Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these, ye have done it unto me."

Harper’s Secret Afghan Budget

Interesting to note that since the media has reported that the costs of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan has run way over budget: http://www.thestar.com/News/Canada/article/339588

the Harper government has taken a bold new step in thwarting democracy at home by completely evading public accountability. The budget is so far out of control they have made it secret and is telling the country's taxpayers that revealing the future cost of the war in Afghanistan would be a threat to national security: http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/story.html?id=1718949

That is criminal. Even Stockwell Day admits we cannot afford to continue the mission: http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Canada+afford+continue+Afghan+mission/1659914/story.html

The costs of the mission is one thing. A democracy is accountable to the public. Fighting for "Democracy" in Afghanistan is somewhat ironic when we throw democracy out the window at home to accomplish the task.

The other factor is the moral justification for the mission itself. Wining and dining the Taliban for the rights to build the oil pipeline through Afghanistan then declaring war shortly after they gave the rights to the pipeline to an Argentina firm is very suspicious.

The 9/11 inconsistencies are very real and need to be addressed before we justify the moral grounds of the mission in Afghanistan not to mention the financial costs of the mission which are clearly out of control.

The Bin Laden video did not look like bin Laden. The Taliban said if the Americans had proof Bin Ladin was responsible for 9/11 they would turn him over but not without proof. The Americans have been know to torture to obtain false confessions. A practice Iggy supports.

9/11 was a serious con. It was indeed treason. Operation Northwoods was real as was President Johnston recalling the air support for the USS Liberty. These are issues that need to be addressed. The war on Terrorism needs to face those facts. Before we confront a foreign enemy and address terrorism from outside we need to confront the enemy from within. The CIA are terrorists. The war on terror cannot proceed without acknowledging that fact.

Afghanistan’s new rape law

OK this is another reason we shouldn’t be in Afghanistan. The new president, the one we put in power, makes a law legalizing rape in marriage to win over voters in the upcoming election. Wait a minute, I thought women were allowed to vote in Afghanistan? Ya think that maybe half the population would vote against such a proposal?

I wonder what the governor of Kandahar thinks about it? You know, the one we put in power – the Canadian. Isn’t this a quaint little pat yourselves on the back tea party. Then after an international outcry about the legislation, they said they are "reviewing" the legislation. Trying to figure out what stage it is in.

http://news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/abc/home/contentposting.aspx?isfa=1&feedname=CTV-TOPSTORIES_V3&showbyline=True&date=true&newsitemid=CTVNews%2f20090402%2fafghan_women_090402
Afghan Lawmaker Safia Sidiqi said that she couldn't recall if the law was ever debated in the country's parliament. "It is impossible in a two-month session for parliament to pass a law more than 200 pages long," she said, referring to the 263-page law. Sidiqi also said that the law should be recalled for debate in parliament.

Well isn’t that special. They can’t remember if it was debated in parliament. The president makes a law without debate or a vote. A fragile democracy indeed.

Let’s remember why we went into Afghanistan. We were led to believe that Afghanistan was responsible for 9/11. However, if one examines the bin Laden confession video claiming responsibility for the attack, it doesn’t even look like bin Laden and there has been no other confirmation of responsibility.

Not the mention the unknown mystery of how the third tower fell in New York when no planes hit it. Without even touching on conspiracies the historical reality of CIA lead false flag attacks are historical realities. Then there’s the oil pipeline.

US oil companies in bed with the Taliban trying to win the contract to build the oil pipeline three months before 9/11. Then all of a sudden we’re at war with them when they give the oil pipeline contract to an Argentina firm. It all adds up to one thing – bullsh*t.

Bill Turner was a letter carrier from Edmonton who was killed serving in Afghanistan. Bill was a really nice guy. Many really nice guys have died for a lie. Actually several. It’s not a matter of pressuring the Afghanistan puppet government we are protecting from the insurgents into repealing the law. It’s about getting the f*ck out of the country and stop spending millions of taxpayers dollars there in aid.

CentGas - Afghanistan’s Oil War

I’m going to clarify a few links in my last post just to drive the point home. I just posted the links as I was rushing off to work this morning. The revelation is the quest to build an oil pipeline through Afghanistan called CentGas short for Central Asia Gas Pipeline and it reeks with Bush administration conflict of interest.

The CentGas pipeline was to connect Turkmenistan, a new country north of Iran, formed from the former Soviet Union, with Pakistan. The reason the US has interest is because of the US Oil company UNOCAL and Halliburton, which was headed by Dick Cheney at the time.

This article itemizes the players involved in the Afghanistan Oil Pipeline:
http://pashalaw.blogspot.com/2007/12/who-is-hamid-karzai.html

Condoleezza Rice was a former member of the board of Chevron? Chevron bought out UNOCAL in 2005: http://www.pipelinedubai.com/press/2005/pr_05_0690.htm

ENRON conducted the feasibility study for the CentGas deal? ENRON were contributors to Bush’s campaign fund? http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/oilwar1.html

No wonder they promoted Enron’s official book cooker to the Pentagon’s official book cooker.

Any ways. The point is the timeline. Not only did the CIA train the Taliban to fight the Soviets during that war, not only did the Bin Laden family provide start up money for the Bush family’s defunct oil company in Texas, but up until four months before 911, Texas oil barons were wooing the Taliban to win the contract to build the pipeline.
http://grant-montgomery.blogspot.com/2008/09/us-and-nato-forces-in-afghanistan.html

The point is, everything went wrong when the Taliban awarded the pipeline contact to a firm in Argentina instead of the US. Then… Abracadabra… war. All of a sudden all the bad things the Taliban did mattered and the US embarked on a crusade to liberate the oppressed. Only the oppressed didn’t matter as long as the Taliban gave the US the pipeline contact. That seems to be the real issue on the table.

Another war of deception fought over money:

Afghanistan Acid Attack

http://pashalaw.blogspot.com/2007/12/who-is-hamid-karzai.html

Sometimes it’s hard to know who to believe if anyone. I really don’t know much about the Taliban. All I know is that they shot a couple of female aid workers dead, which was outrageous and that they were trained by the CIA which is suspicious.

Then there’s the propaganda war. How do you discern the truth when the good guys are convicted liars? We know there was an acid attack on schoolgirls in Afghanistan recently. Yes, absolutely outrageous but who did it. Today the media reports it was the Taliban:
http://news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/abc/home/contentposting.aspx?isfa=1&feedname=CTV-TOPSTORIES_V3&showbyline=True&newsitemid=CTVNews%2f20081125%2fafghan_acid_081125

Please note that the media is quoting an accusation made by the Kandahar Gov under the direction of the Afghan President opposing the Taliban. These are the guys who want forgein troops there longer because the Taliban will kick their ass if the troops leave. These are the guys who were accused of torturing prisoners after Canadian and US troops handed over prisoners to them. We know that Bush vetoed the bill preventing CIA torture and that the CIA likes to outsource their dirty work to hide their liability.

The claim is that high ranking Taliban officials paid the guy to perform the acid attack. So by their information we have confirmation that it wasn’t the Taliban soldiers who did it. We have an accusation that the Taliban paid someone to do it. Which is entirely possible. It’s just that it's so hard for us to tell which group paid the guys to do it – the Taliban or the CIA and MI6 in an ongoing string of false flag events in the ongoing media driven propaganda war.

The article claims that girls were forbidden to attend school when the Taliban were in power. I don’t know if that is true or false. The Taliban closed down Turkish schools and seem to be opposed to non religious schools and closed many. Whether their position is an attack on girls is hard to tell. Like I said, in Afghanistan, woman are allowed to vote. In Saudi Arabia and Kuwait they are not.

The propaganda war seems to revolve around the oil factor again. It’s not as blatant as in Iraq who has oil, it’s more subtle with US oil company UNOCAL:
http://www.counterpunch.org/tomenron.html

Seemingly the oil issue appears with the quest to build an oil pipeline through Afghanistan. Despite the propaganda, that appears to be the real root of the conflict:
