Alouette Mountain Revisited

Well I finally made it up Alouette Mountain yesterday. There was too much snow last month to find the last part of the trail.

It’s a pretty long hike but you get a great view of Fraser Valley and Golden Ears from the top.

I’m not a Hannah Montana fan but Miley Cyrus has a new song out about climbing mountains called The Climb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG2zyeVRcbs

"There’ll always be another mountain to climb, I’ll always wanna make it move…" The only thing I disagree with is the conclusion that it’s all about the climb. Not. For me it’s all about the view. I climb for the view. And it does matter who’s waiting on the other side. (of the veil) But I do agree it’s not about how fast we get there. Whether you run up a mountain or walk up you get the same view.

TELUS Idol Youtube Trial

People have been asking me about how the Youtube trial is going in San Francisco so I thought I just make a short recap of the facts.
I posted the intro here: http://www.cupwnewvision.org/telus_censorship.htm

And here: http://www.cupwnewvision.org/court/

Not long after my case with Telus, Canada Post followed suit and made their own fraudulent copyright claim on another video on Youtube which was also picked up by Michael Geist and the Tyee: http://thetyee.ca/Mediacheck/2009/01/27/YouTubeCensor

The two most significant documents in my trial with Telus are two letters Telus sent to Youtube. I received a copy of the second letter from Youtube with a copy of their application. Telus never served me a copy of the application until I had filed my response in the court and objected to not being notified and objected to them proceeding ex parte. (without me)

Interesting to note in their court application they claimed Telus Idol was called Telus VOIP and that it was an original work about Telus’ voice over Internet protocol. That was a bold faced lie and is likely the reason they didn’t send me a copy of their application and hoped to proceed in my absence.

I received a copy of their original letter to Youtube with the actual fraudulent copyright claim later in the trial. They submitted it as an exhibit with one of their opposition briefs to my motion to strike and my motion to dismiss. You can download a copy of it from here: http://www.cupwnewvision.org/court/

The two facts of interest that rise are their fraudulent claim to home videos they did not take and news clips they have no copyright claim on as well as their bizarre claim that Telus Idol was called Telus VOIP and was about Voice over Internet Protocol. I’ve submitted the McLibel decision as case law:

Wherein two ordinary people took on McDonald’s and won massive damages in their counterclaim from an International court because they were falsely accused of liable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyGK5j_EcmE

Harper’s Secret Afghan Budget

Interesting to note that since the media has reported that the costs of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan has run way over budget: http://www.thestar.com/News/Canada/article/339588

the Harper government has taken a bold new step in thwarting democracy at home by completely evading public accountability. The budget is so far out of control they have made it secret and is telling the country's taxpayers that revealing the future cost of the war in Afghanistan would be a threat to national security: http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/story.html?id=1718949

That is criminal. Even Stockwell Day admits we cannot afford to continue the mission: http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Canada+afford+continue+Afghan+mission/1659914/story.html

The costs of the mission is one thing. A democracy is accountable to the public. Fighting for "Democracy" in Afghanistan is somewhat ironic when we throw democracy out the window at home to accomplish the task.

The other factor is the moral justification for the mission itself. Wining and dining the Taliban for the rights to build the oil pipeline through Afghanistan then declaring war shortly after they gave the rights to the pipeline to an Argentina firm is very suspicious.

The 9/11 inconsistencies are very real and need to be addressed before we justify the moral grounds of the mission in Afghanistan not to mention the financial costs of the mission which are clearly out of control.

The Bin Laden video did not look like bin Laden. The Taliban said if the Americans had proof Bin Ladin was responsible for 9/11 they would turn him over but not without proof. The Americans have been know to torture to obtain false confessions. A practice Iggy supports.

9/11 was a serious con. It was indeed treason. Operation Northwoods was real as was President Johnston recalling the air support for the USS Liberty. These are issues that need to be addressed. The war on Terrorism needs to face those facts. Before we confront a foreign enemy and address terrorism from outside we need to confront the enemy from within. The CIA are terrorists. The war on terror cannot proceed without acknowledging that fact.

Iran and Florida Voter Fraud

I find the election protest in Iran very suspicious. When has Iran ever been Kiss Ass American? Peace is one thing but proactively kiss ass? The last time that happened was in1953 when the CIA placed operatives in Iran to overthrow the government: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejNk7VD0ru0

I certainly don’t support voter fraud but before we jump to conclusions in Iran, we need to examine the results of the Congressional Hearing on Voter Fraud Software in Ohio and Florida: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky-YXvxYbck

As well as the multitude of Florida voter indiscrepancies:

Republican "operatives"? Somewhat suspicious indeed.

BC’s Broken Medical

I spelt the evening yesterday in a BC emergency ward and I have to say that I am ashamed. I used to think we had this great medical system that provided medical care for everyone both rich and poor. Yesterday I found out that simply is not true.

My daughter had serious appendicitis symptoms, which needed to be looked at by a doctor. I shuddered at the thought of taking her to Surrey Memorial. The wait times at Surrey Memorial are horrendous. Her abdominal pains ended up easing and she then had flu symptoms so we stayed home and monitored it.

The next day the pains in her side returned so we went to a walk in clinic. They all were full and stopped taking patients. I told them of the seriousness of the situation and expressed concern about the bad reputation Surrey Memorial has. They suggested Peach Arch. We discovered the wait time there was four to five hours minimum.

I say an older lady who had fallen holding a compress to her head for hours. As her hand grew tired I saw her head was covered in blood and she was holding the compress on her head to stop the bleeding. All she needed was for the wound to be cleaned and dressed and she’d be on her way. I felt ashamed watching her wait. I wanted to clean the wound myself.

There was another woman who brought her young child in because he had swallowed some pills by accident. She was waiting a long time and grew tired. The boy’s older sister expressed the concern to the triage nurse that he was stating to go to sleep, something we are told not to let people who have swallowed pills to do. The nurse said that’s fine, let him sleep and the doctor will see him when he gets a chance.

The mother was noticeably worried and had her hand on her son’s neck feeling his pulse as he slept. I was ashamed. As a parent I felt we could do better.

The observations were many and the occlusion was shame. I’m ashamed that our emergency ward is scams. I was told by a doctor many years ago that it is politically hard for a doctor to be able to work in an emergency room. The doctors in have a monopoly on the privilege and like to let the room back up so they can see more patients per hour and make more money.

I don’t know if the crisis is a scam from the doctors or the Campbell government. Budget cuts to medical and big fast raises and pension for politicians. That is just plain satanic. Free medical is a good thing but horrific line ups makes the medical obsolete. Perhaps it’s a political scam to allow private or public private partnerships that can charge more money. The bottom line is that our medical system is broken and I am ashamed. We need to staff emergency wards better.

Taliban attack musicians at wedding

This is really strange: http://uk.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUKTRE55E2PF20090615

The Taliban attack musicians at a wedding, beat them, shave their heads and tie them to a tree. Seemingly they have banned music even at weddings. OK that definitely is something out of the twilight zone.

As cynical as I am of the Oil Pipeline the American Oil companies wanted the Taliban to let them build through Afghanistan and their new rape law, banning music, throwing acid on women, forbidding girls to go to school, those are acts of archaism if true. I’m left to ask, is it true or not?

The acid attack just seems so false flag. Not something any rational and well organized counter insurgency would execute. More like something MI6 or the CIA would orchestrate to gain public symphony for their cause. Remember all the bad the Taliban did didn’t matter until they gave the oil pipeline contact to an Argentina firm.

I remember reading about the Talibans well executed attack on Canadian and US military supplies. That was well orchestrated and strategic. These strange acts of extremism don’t seem consistent with the same group.

If the Taliban did ban music and did pay people to throw acid on school girls then shame on them. If the CIA and the MI 6 did it to create animosity towards the Taliban then shame on them.

Michael Moore Save our CEO's

Gotta love Michael Moore:

St Mark’s Summit

Speaking of Howe Sound Crest trail, yesterday I climbed St Mark’s Summit. That’s the first peak along the trail on your way to Unnecessary Mountain and the Lions from Cypress. Beautiful view of Howe Sound and the Lions.

Lots of snow on the Summit but most of the trail was bare.

There’s a big ravine between St Mark’s summit and Unnecessary Mountain but once you’re on top of Unnecessary Mountain the Lions are right there.

A sign said it was an hour to Unnecessary mountain from St Mark’s Summit. From Cypress getting to the Lions is longer but not as verticle. From Lion’s bay it's a shorter route but very verticle.

If Baker is the crown jewel of Washington State, then the Lions are the crown jewel of Vancouver: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_NeFrQAF1Q

Iran Revisited

Was there voter fraud or was the CIA just unhappy with the results of the election? Sometimes it’s hard to tell. In 1953 the CIA paid people to start protests and led a coo against the democratically elected leader and plant a US friendly one in his place under Operation Ajax.

Are these demonstrations history repeating itself?

Howe Sound Crest Trail

Well I finally found Howe Sound Crest Trail tonight. I always go in the winter or spring when the markers are buried under 10 feet of snow. Today you could finally see the markers peaking out of the snow.

At the beginning of the trail right after the ski runs on Cypress there is a fork in the trail. There’s a high road and a low road. Take the low road, which goes straight. I took the high road in winter once and ended up climbing the double black diamond ski hill on the other side of Mount Strachan.
.

I would always get to this spot and loose the trail. This is where it continues. It’s just that in winter the trail is completely covered in snow and very hard to find. It is a really nice summer trail though.
.
.
Since the trail is narrow and cuts across the side of the mountain, ten feet of snow completely covers the trail in winter.
.

I think I finally found Christmas gully the far side of Mount Strachan.
.

There was a nice sunset behind Bowen Island in Howe Sound. It’s another angle of the view from Whitecliff.
.

This one is from the Bowen Island look out on Howe Sound Crest trail.
