Corporate Greed in Politics

This is a picture of Don Regan, former Merrill Lynch CEO, telling Ronald Reagan to speed it up as shown in Michael Moore's movie Capitalism a love story. He became the
treasury secretary under Regan. That's when things began to change.

Henry Paulson was the former CEO of Goldman Sachs and became the US treasury secretary under George W. Bush. Many felt issuing the bank bail out was a conflict of interest.

Likewise, Goldman Sachs became Obama's #1 Private Contributor In Michael Moore's movie he talked about three interesting leaked Citibank documents referring to Plutonomy.

I don't think we should go back to the days where the rich enter a 90% tax bracket. I think no matter how much wealth you have the government shouldn't be able to take more than 50% of it. Yet I do think they should tax off shore accounts and all the hidden funds. Donald Trump bragging about paying zero income tax is treason.

CEOs got a big raise; how about you?

Coming out of a bruising recession, the average CEO in the U.S. got a 24% pay raise. The average American worker? Just 3.3%. What does the widening pay gap mean for investors?

Sales are down at the Royal Mail

Well Moya Greene is at it again. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised yet it's so disheartening. Someone from the UK posted on my blog about Moya Greene being a virtual axe murder. He claimed that Moya Greene has already laid off his wife at the Royal Mail. She worked in sales. Nice Christmas present Moya.

My first response was the adage that Moya Greene has no concept of business revenue. If you cut all your services you will reduce your business revenue. I bumped into a former coworker at the Post Office the next day. I told him about Moya Greene laying off sales staff in the UK. His response was automatic.

Of course. They want to privatize it. They lay off the sales staff and then complain sales are down so they'll have to privatize. He's right. We know their MO here. Now they are doing the same thing in England. They are killing profits which will rationalize them privatizing it so they can avoid being publicly accountable.

There are some people who are so opposed to publicly owned anything they will spend billions of taxpayers dollars to privatize public services just so it is private not public. This political group has two sections. One section believes that the private sector is more financially responsible than the public sector and can do a better job at making a profit than the public sector. They are primarily concerned with profits. They don't want a publicly run service to be a cost burden on the public.

The other group are crude business sharks who covet the huge salaries of private sector CEOs at the public expense. They flatter the others with talk of profits but they are simply interested in circumventing public accountability. They are not concerned with what's in the public interest.

Take Moya Greene for example. She claims the private sector doesn't want to be told anything by the public and sees the public as stupid in the area of downsizing, implementing new technology, and strategic planning. Turning a profit making tax paying revenue creating corporation into a hollow shell billions in debt is not strategic planning.

Those are lies to convince the other section of the privatization group that circumventing public accountability by killing profits is somehow a good thing.

Take note England: Moya Greene is laying off sales staff so she can then complain sales are down and privatize the Royal Mail. It's sabotage.

Remember Remember the 5th of November!

What has Moya Greene really done?

The Vancouver local of CUPW posted a really good article about Moya Greene's departure from Canada Post. A lot of bent spin doctors like to pretend Moya Greene is good at business when we know that is simply false. She is just a one trick pony.

She is, in essence, an axe murderer who cuts jobs viciously with no thought or plan on how to build business revenue. The common misconception is if the headlines read jobs were cut then shareholders will jump for joy and stock will rise which is not the case in a service based industry. In a service based industry, if you slash all your services you will reduce your business revenue.

So let's take a step back and look at what Moya Greene has really done to Canada Post. The Vancouver local pointed out the simple truth that cannot be escaped. Before Moya Greene came to Canada Post it was a vibrant business that consistently made profit and consistently paid large amounts of dividends and Corporate tax to the government which increased the government's tax base. Canada Post was in essence a cash cow for the government.

In one sweeping movement with her axe she turned a profit making company into a company that was $2.5 billion in debt. Instantly. It took generations to build the business into a efficient profit making machine and in one foul swoop she killed the profit making company and made it $2.5 billion in debt.

Her rational was she wanted to borrow the money to cut jobs which one day would save money. One day save money. Why does that sound like a snake oil salesman? Maybe because she left right after the devil's deed was done. Long before any future profits would be seen by the dastardly deed.

True the Union can't stand against technology forever. Yet Moya Greene refused to consult the Union or ANYONE skilled in the business. She had no skills in the business and refused to consult with anyone who did have skills in the business because she claims all her managers in the public sector are stupid. That was somewhat ironic.

If Canada Post had invested in machines that would sort the mail to line of travel so letter carriers would basically come in to pick up their mail and go deliver it, that would indeed have cut a huge amount of jobs which in turn would have greatly reduced labour cost. However, she didn't because those kind of machines don't exist in Canada.

For those kind of machines to exist in Canada we would have to completely change our postal code system to a system similar to what's used by the US. Right now everyone on the same side of the street has the same postal code. You can create machines that will sort letter mail to specific routes but not to line of travel which they are hoping for.

Spending money on good technology can save money in the long run. Spending a huge amount of money on bad technology with false promises will not. Oh but Moya Greene is long gone before we can see the results of her foul swoop.

We can go on and on about all the other blunders Moya Greene made at Canada Post which were bad for business but the simple conclusion is the point raised by the Vancouver local of CUPW.

She turned a profit making dividend paying company that took generations to build into a company that was $2.5 billion in debt instantly then left.

TELUS Fears Shaw

I found this article rather amusing. TELUS (Darren Nitwhistle) is complaining about the fact that their competitor Shaw, is investing in Canwest Global Communications Corp.'s broadcasting. That's quite funny. TELUS has given Darren unlimited resources to censor the Internet and spend on advertising.

So if Shaw buys Canwest does that mean they get free advertising? Does that mean they can chose not to run TELUS adds? That is hilarious. Darren already put his foot in his mouth when he sent out a poster using Shaw's CEO picture quoting him as mocking TELUS' inability to compete in the market. Darren's response was dumb.

Have you heard those bizarre TELUS tales? They really sound like they are on crack. I remember the first one I heard on the radio. All about the perfect world where TELUS was the only service provider and someone was ridding a unicorn to candy mountain. I kid you not. It was bizarre. They obviously shouldn't have fired Wade.

BC Rail Corruption Case begins to unravel. Or does it?

This case has been delayed, gagged and buried for years. I am skeptical the truth will ever come out since Gordo ordered four years of e-mail to be erased.

The subject of the inquiry is corruption in the privatization of public resources. Moya Greene's specialty. Obviously Moya Greene was not named in the BC Rail indictment but she was a key figure in the privatization of CN Rail which took over BC Rail.

It is of no surprise that privatization was drenched with insider trading and back room deals. It's not about socialism. It's about democracy and public accountability.

Look at the United States wonderful attempt of privatizing their energy - Enron. There hasn't been a bigger scandal in American Corporate history. After that scandal, Thomas White, the Enron book cooker was promoted to be the US Military book cooker.

Dare I cite Haliburton? Let me say this. My kid's school had a forum for Earth Day. In it they commented on how many corporations had become so powerful they had more money than world governments.

Can you imagine if corporations formed their own G8 and were given armies to enforce their global strategy? But they have. That's what Blackwater is all about. Buyer Beware.

Judge Walker's Limp Fish Decision

Snapping back to reality I will cite the Judge Walker decision and record my dissent before I move on. On June 1st 2007 TELUS had 23 videos removed from YouTube. 12 of those videos they had no possible copyright claim on.

I filed a counter notification stating that I objected and they made an application to the US District Court in San Fransisco. Only they lied in their application and they never served me a copy of it until after I had acquired a copy from YouTube and filed a response to the court objecting to the fact I hadn't been served as they had my address.

It looked like they were trying to proceed ex parte, (without me) so they could get away with lying about the content of the videos in court. It was another dirty trick in a long line of Corporate legal decadence. Ronald Lopez dodged a US Sheriff three times and refused alternate service before I was permitted to e file documents. http://cupwnewvision.org/court/rat.htm

The litigation went back and forth for two and a half years. Finally the court directed the plaintiff to file a motion for Summery Judgement because I objected to having to go to San Fransisco to attend a trial since both I and the plaintiff were Canadians living in Canada.

On November 12 2009 the parties met before Judge Walker, (I participated by way of telephone) to simply confirm the written submissions on the Plaintiff's motion. TELUS' proposed order only listed 11 of the 23 videos they had originally taken off YouTube. I said that proposed order was an admission of guilt they over reached and committed copy fraud.

The court awarded their proposed order for the 11 videos about TELUS Idol. The video TELUS lied and said was contained in a locked vault claiming I had some how broken in and stole it when in reality they used it as a training video posted on their network since employees who didn't attend the conference were expected to watch it as part of their training.

I am somewhat disappointed in the courts decision for many reasons. Despite my clear requests for an order authorizing YouTube to repost the 12 videos they had taken off not listed in their proposed order, no such order was made. It appears the way they do things there is you submit a proposed order and if you win the court crosses off the word proposed and the judge signs the order. I kid you not.

The court said nothing on my request for perjury charges against the plaintiff who was caught red handed committing perjury and fraud. The court made no consequence for the perjury whatsoever. That is a shameful disgrace.

Judge Walker is no Texas Ranger. I had hoped he was going to be the Chuck Norris of American justice. Not so. Instead all we got was the limp fish of corporate crime.

The censorship continues...

Calgary Seniors lose $350,000.00 in alledged $100 M Ponzi scam

Here we go again. Corporate criminals ripping of seniors in another scam: http://news.ca.msn.com/top-stories/cbc-article.aspx?cp-documentid=21738142

Calgary man on the lamb: http://news.ca.msn.com/top-stories/cbc-article.aspx?cp-documentid=21721690

Sounds a lot like the Michael Ritter, Larry Osaki, Merrill Lynch rip off: http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/12/michael-ritter-larry-osaki-and-merrill.html

Or the Bre-X scam also out of Calgary: http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/10/bre-x-and-stornoway.html

Vancouver was worse. Remember the VSE? Like any of the others are honest.

WIPO Sold Out Free Speech

Well WIPO completely sold out free speech. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. After all their purpose is to make a profit. I should have known something was wrong when they assigned a Canadian corporate lawyer to be an arbitrator. If that isn't a shameful conflict of interest I don't know what is.

Darren's Ninja who is a specialist in the field knew the case law and knew Darren didn't have an exclusive right to the Darren Entwistle dot com domain. So Darren gets a red neck huckleberry rodeo clown who works on environmental law to apply for the domain. WIPO then assigns the case to a corporate whore for an arbitrator who violated all the existing case law and let him have the domain. http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/decisions/html/2008/d2008-1534.html08-1534.html08-1534.html

That is really shameful. Daren has a legacy of lies and censorship. If he loses a labour decision like the Madame Pineau decision, he keeps appealing it until he wins. He lied and said Telus Idol didn't exist so we put it on youtube and he had that and many other videos he had no possible copyright claim on taken off youtube. Then there was the brown envelope.

The TWU acquired several confidential documents and Darren got a gag order preventing the contents of those documents to be made public because it would likely further poison the relationship between Telus and it's employees. Now he wants my web site taken off the Internet because it comes up number one on google when you search his name. He gets it. Everything Darren wants he gets.

Brian Canfield got in a fight with George Petty and fired him. Petty wanted to buy Clearnet for $1.9 billion and Canfield said no. Then Canfield brings in Darren and lets Darren buy Clearnet for $6.6 billion. Do the math.

It reminds me of a lady who saw Darren at a restaurant during the labour dispute. She was really upset with what he was doing to the company and the employees. She was so upset she took his picture at the restaurant. Yet that just wasn't enough. She was really angry and she wanted him to know. So she banged on the window so he could see her and she gave him the finger. Darren fired her along with many others but the question remains what could Darren have done to make her so angry? Now I understand.

As Darren celebrates yet another censorship victory he also celebrates the elimination of more jobs in Canada by closing COS in Calgary and Edmonton. Remember how he called us liars for claiming off shore call centres would reduce jobs in Canada? Who's the Liar now?

Enron Reexamined

We need to take another look at Enron. Enron was this big scandal about stock market fraud. It involved excessive privatization of public power, it involved the Bush administration and it involved the third tower that fell in New York City which contain corporate corruption watchdog files.

Martin Ignasiak - Iggy Huckleberry

Well it looks like Darren found another Bobble head lawyer to harass me again. This one's a Rodeo Clown from Calgary: http://www.stikeman.com/cps/rde/xchg/se-en/hs.xsl/Profile.htm?ProfileID=832718

What's with that sore saddle look on his face? Why would someone pick that for a profile picture? And what's with that name? Is that for real? Sounds a lot like a Liberal Liar I know who wants to be Prime Minister.

No wonder Darren picked this other Iggy. He's got a few scandals of his own up his sleeve. In 2005 he resigned from being Police Commissioner in Edmonton.

CBC reported that in 2005 Martin Ignasiak "had deflected numerous calls for his resignation during his controversial four-year tenure, but said he wasn't pushed out." http://www.injusticebusters.com/04/Edmonton_police.htm

Ya see he is an environmental lawyer but his law firm represented the Edmonton Police force which would indeed be a complete conflict of interest.

His involvement in the drunken stake out had nothing to do with his resignation. Much. Why did he skip town to Calgary then? Environmental law? Which side? When someone says they do Labour law they are either for or against labour. When he does environmental law is he for or against the environment?

I'm sure we have a few people in Calgary and in Edmonton that could check this guy out. He resigned from being Edmonton's Police Commissioner the same year the Micheal Ritter scandal came out also in Edmonton. http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/12/michael-ritter-larry-osaki-and-merrill.html

Darren continues to censor the Internet through an abuse of copyright law. He claims that any song written about him that he doesn't like is subject to copyright because it mentions his name. Wrong! He wants the DE web site shut down and claims he has rights to that domain because he is connected to Telus. Wrong!

The Harper government made a web site slagging their political opponent at: http://www.ignatieff.me/ Micheal Ignatieff does not own the rights to that domain neither does the Liberal party of Canada. It's called Free Speech.

Don't worry. A Liberal (or so the author claims) did the same thing to Belinda Stronach when she jumped ship and changed political parties at: http://www.belindastronach.org/ Belinda doesn't own the rights to that domain so she registered http://www.belinda.ca/ instead.

Oh but Darren is special. He's better than everyone else and owns exclusive rights to anything said about him. He is the censorship king so he is. All hail the Rodeo Clown and the Bullies of Bobble heads.

Now that's taking the Bull by the horns. Brokeback Mountain style. No wonder Iggy Huckleberry has that sore saddle look on his face. Rednecks. Go figure.

Ah ha... here it is. Martin Ignasiak fought against environmentalists to promote the Oil Sands.

He even stated in one case "There is no need for public participation at this stage." (on the issue of greenhouse gases.) Aren't the Oil Sands referred to as Dirty Oil? Me thinks this bully has his hands dirty already: http://www.dirtyoilsands.org/thedirt

Maybe that sore saddle look on his face is just the smell from his client being the second largest source of sulfur emissions in North America. If it looks dirty and it smells dirty...

TELUS Idol Youtube Trial

People have been asking me about how the Youtube trial is going in San Francisco so I thought I just make a short recap of the facts.
I posted the intro here: http://www.cupwnewvision.org/telus_censorship.htm

And here: http://www.cupwnewvision.org/court/

Not long after my case with Telus, Canada Post followed suit and made their own fraudulent copyright claim on another video on Youtube which was also picked up by Michael Geist and the Tyee: http://thetyee.ca/Mediacheck/2009/01/27/YouTubeCensor

The two most significant documents in my trial with Telus are two letters Telus sent to Youtube. I received a copy of the second letter from Youtube with a copy of their application. Telus never served me a copy of the application until I had filed my response in the court and objected to not being notified and objected to them proceeding ex parte. (without me)

Interesting to note in their court application they claimed Telus Idol was called Telus VOIP and that it was an original work about Telus’ voice over Internet protocol. That was a bold faced lie and is likely the reason they didn’t send me a copy of their application and hoped to proceed in my absence.

I received a copy of their original letter to Youtube with the actual fraudulent copyright claim later in the trial. They submitted it as an exhibit with one of their opposition briefs to my motion to strike and my motion to dismiss. You can download a copy of it from here: http://www.cupwnewvision.org/court/

The two facts of interest that rise are their fraudulent claim to home videos they did not take and news clips they have no copyright claim on as well as their bizarre claim that Telus Idol was called Telus VOIP and was about Voice over Internet Protocol. I’ve submitted the McLibel decision as case law:

Wherein two ordinary people took on McDonald’s and won massive damages in their counterclaim from an International court because they were falsely accused of liable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyGK5j_EcmE

Harper Privatizes Canada’s Nuclear Power

You have got to be kidding. It’s bad enough the Liberals sold Candu reactors to Communist China who in turn were able to sell nuclear weapon technology and materials to any one they wanted. Now Harper privatizes Canada’s nuclear power.

OK we have beef with you privatizing our power in the first place. That is dumb and removing public accountability from our power means less sovereignty over our own nation.

Notwithstanding that, let’s pause for one second and consider what could possibly be wrong with privatizing our nuclear power. Removal of public accountability is one thing but is goes much further. You privatize something and it’s mandated to make a profit. When Ontario privatized their power the consumer rates skyrocketed.

Nevertheless, the real problem arises when you make a nuclear power company private and mandated to make a profit. When you sell nuclear reactors you sell the technology and materials to make nuclear warheads. If you are mandated to make a profit there is no moral guideline who to sell that technology too.

It is Blackwater revisited. Mercenaries for hire all in the name of the almighty dollar. God help us.
Oh and don’t forget that TILMA makes it illegal for any level of government to create a law that would inhibit a private company’s ability to make a profit. Privatizing Canada’s faulty nuclear reactors would make them exempt from laws that protect the environment like dumping nuclear waste.
.
Oh and here’s an update. Turns out the government has been pouring money into the aging Chalk River nuclear reactor: http://news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/abc/home/contentposting.aspx?isfa=1&feedname=CTV-TOPSTORIES_V3&showbyline=True&date=true&newsitemid=CTVNews%2f20090602%2fraitt_documents_090602
Now they want to sell that public asset to one of their friends in the private sector and somehow they call it good business.

Suspicious Suicides

There have been a long line of suspicious suicides surrounding the CIA and MI6 lately. I will cite three.

Garry Webb:

http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/09/bourne-supremacy.html

Barry Jennings: http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2009/01/barry-jennings-suspicious-death.html

David Kelly: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1131243/PETER-OBORNE-Five-years-Hutton-STILL-havent-told-truth-war-based-lies.html

http://dr-david-kelly.blogspot.com/

Lord Hutton? You mean Lord Vader. Hutton Inquiry, 9/11 Commission, Warren Commission. Same papers different pile.

I encourage people to become familiar with these cases. It is also prudent to become familiar with the Arkansas case where a corner knowingly falsified a murder claiming it was a suicide: http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/10/arkansas-train-deaths.html

Linking isn't Defamation

As I’m sure Telus’ almighty ninja knows, linking isn’t defamation: http://www.slaw.ca/2008/10/28/linking-isnt-publication/

Why would they support people who trash talk their company anyways?

Ode to a Ninja, from a Pirate

Ya see Darren’s lawyer’s new photo? Now that’s what I’m talking about. Some men look better when they get older. David Wotherspoon is looking more like a ninja every day. He’s got that Richard Gere corporate assassin look. Of all the lawyers that have been in my grill this one has lasted the longest. All the others are ashes under the souls of my feet. It’s the age old adage he that shall sue thee by the law shall be cursed by the law.

But this ninja keeps on ticking. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t have small man syndrome. All the other boy scouts would over reach and make ridiculous threats they had no legal ability to enforce. They’d end up getting their a*s kicked and made fools of themselves. When people are angry they will run to the lawyer that tells them what they want to hear and be led down the garden path of costly frivolous applications.

Not the mighty Ninja David Whotherspoon from the biggest firm I’ve ever seen not to mention gone up against. He seems to know what he can do and what he can’t do and he seems to know who he can con and who he can’t con. Like my father always used to say, you can’t con a con. Peace.

Oil Futures on 60 Minutes

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/01/08/60minutes/main4707770.shtml 60 minutes ran a very interesting program tonight on the cause of last years’ oil price explosion. Everyone was told that the price increase was a result of supply and demand. Yet the oil prices kept making record increases when world supply was up and world demand was down. If supply and demand was allowed to function the price of oil should have been dropping.

Instead record increases continues to push the price of oil off the charts. The reason was the demand went up from oil futures on Wall Street. Huge investment companies kept pushing oil futures predicting the price of oil would continue to increase. This kind of insider trading isn’t necessarily illegal but no one knows what really went on because of the deregulation of the futures market.

Enron wanted oil futures deregulated and Enron got it. Now the documented scandals within Enron have made that company bankrupt. AIG were heavy investors in oil futures and helped drive up the price of oil, which hurt the American economy. After doing that they received a huge bail out from taxpayers dollars. That is insane.

The big corporations push for deregulation to circumvent and hide from public accountability. When they get it, their corruption is unrestricted and destroys whatever it touches. They literally rape and clear cut the economy. Then they have the audacity to claim that everyone who opposes excessive deregulation is a Socialist.

What we are looking at in North America is not a war between Democracy and Communism. What we see is a war between Democracy and Corruption. Corrupt corporations driven by greed push for deregulation so they can make more money through exploitation and dishonesty in business.

Public accountability means protecting the public interest and the constitution. It is the ultimate oxymoron for the big corporations to claim that preventing criminal corruption in business is a socialist conspiracy. They are the ones eroding the constitution and removing individual liberty. http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/10/executive-order-11110.html

Michael Ritter, Larry Osaki and Merrill Lynch

Wow, this one is complicated. It’s an American scam that went into hiding in Canada when the SEC investigated them: http://www.404.gov/litigation/litreleases/lr18446.htm
It involves a prominent Canadian parliament lawyer committing massive fraud and getting 10 years in prison: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/story/2006/10/31/ritter-sentence.html

The founder of the scam, Larry Osaki got 20 years in prison:
http://friendsoflarryosaki.com/ for creating a scam of a company that didn’t exist but rose and fell based on hype just like Bre-X also run out of Alberta: http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/10/bre-x-and-stornoway.html

The story was on TV tonight and was one of the biggest fraud cases in Canadian history. Turns out that the Canadian parliament lawyer even lied about his law degree. I kid you not. Ritter was also tied to money laundering for Dan Gordon who had stolen $40 million from Merrill Lynch in New York:
http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/brokerage/2003-09-03-gordon_x.htm

That was an interesting case all on it’s own. Take a look at the dates. "Daniel L. Gordon's carefully crafted image as a Wall Street whiz kid began unraveling on March 15, 2001. That day began as a career capstone for the tall, lanky Gordon, who had built Merrill Lynch's energy-trading business from scratch two years earlier and elevated it into one of Wall Street's leaders"

Here we have another scam directly related to the privatization of US Energy just like Enron. The case began to unravel on March 15 2001. Less than six months later, the third tower fell in New York City, the one that was not hit by any plane that contained CIA and military records as well as Wall Street watchdog information about Enron and you guessed it the Merrill Lynch energy-trading scam.

What am I trying to say? I’m trying to say the corporate corruption has followed a pattern. The stock fraud was linked to Canada. The privatization of energy fraud was linked to America. The investigation of those frauds was linked to the suspicious fall of the Third Tower in New York City. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to do the math and see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

The moral of the story? The public has every right to be concerned with privatization and deregulation of their energy and natural resources. The public has every right to be concerned about the lack of public accountability in the stock market especially when they are asked to spend trillions of dollars to bail out scams and fake stocks.

Indeed Michael Ritter is a very bad man but he isn’t the only one.

http://finiansworld.blogspot.com/2008/12/mortgage-sex.html
