CentGas - Afghanistan’s Oil War
I’m going to clarify a few links in my last post just to drive the point home. I just posted the links as I was rushing off to work this morning. The revelation is the quest to build an oil pipeline through Afghanistan called CentGas short for Central Asia Gas Pipeline and it reeks with Bush administration conflict of interest.
The CentGas pipeline was to connect Turkmenistan, a new country north of Iran, formed from the former Soviet Union, with Pakistan. The reason the US has interest is because of the US Oil company UNOCAL and Halliburton, which was headed by Dick Cheney at the time.
This article itemizes the players involved in the Afghanistan Oil Pipeline: http://pashalaw.blogspot.com/2007/12/who-is-hamid-karzai.html
Condoleezza Rice was a former member of the board of Chevron? Chevron bought out UNOCAL in 2005: http://www.pipelinedubai.com/press/2005/pr_05_0690.htm
ENRON conducted the feasibility study for the CentGas deal? ENRON were contributors to Bush’s campaign fund? http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/oilwar1.html
No wonder they promoted Enron’s official book cooker to the Pentagon’s official book cooker.
Any ways. The point is the timeline. Not only did the CIA train the Taliban to fight the Soviets during that war, not only did the Bin Laden family provide start up money for the Bush family’s defunct oil company in Texas, but up until four months before 911, Texas oil barons were wooing the Taliban to win the contract to build the pipeline. http://grant-montgomery.blogspot.com/2008/09/us-and-nato-forces-in-afghanistan.html
The point is, everything went wrong when the Taliban awarded the pipeline contact to a firm in Argentina instead of the US. Then… Abracadabra… war. All of a sudden all the bad things the Taliban did mattered and the US embarked on a crusade to liberate the oppressed. Only the oppressed didn’t matter as long as the Taliban gave the US the pipeline contact. That seems to be the real issue on the table.
