I had a good friend at Canada Post who thought I was a Communist for the same reason I thought he wasn’t – we both believe in democracy and free speech. A Communist believing in democracy and free speech? Is that not an oxymoron? Perhaps not. Perhaps a true Communist and a true Conservative have common ground.

I agree with the ultra conservatives about preserving the constitution, fiscal responsibility, democracy and free speech. I agree with the Communists ideals of social justice if maintained within the framework of a constitution preserving democracy and free speech. Can we really have both? Yes we can.
