Carol James

Carol James is a breath of fresh air. She is smart and compassionate. She wants to restore dignity to British Columbia. Something we lost when we closed down Riverview and put all the mentally challenged onto the street. Something we lost when we slashed programs for the elderly. Something we lost when we stopped creating social housing.

Balance is a fundamental principle. Gordon Campbell lost the balance and was over come with heartless greed. Getting rich by exploiting the disadvantaged is nothing to be proud of. The massive MP pay raises after such ruthless cuts were bizarre extremism.

Bragging about a surplus budget then raising gas tax was insanity. Raising the gas tax raises the cost of everything we buy in stores. The goods we buy get transported there on trucks. The price of gas affects the price of everything we buy.

Carol James wants to restore dignity to British Columbia and she wants to restore balance. That is the key. Shun extremism while promoting balance and common sense: http://www.cbc.ca/bcvotes2005/parties/carole_james.html

Think outside the box. The B.C. Liberals are doing nothing for judicial reform. The B.C. NDP are stepping up to the plate:

The topics of judicial reform and judicial accountability arise quite frequently and merit much discussion. An internet radio program, “Change of Venue” which airs biweekly takes up these and other connected topics. Aside from comprehensive and spirited discussion of legal reform, with time allowing callers might make significant contributions to the discussion as well.

For more information, please contact the Webpage www.njcdlp.org/Change_of_Venue.html

Tomorrow's "Change of Venue" (COV) show will have as guest Florida activist Mark Adams who will discuss the role of the media in reporting on the judiciary, a very important issue. What problems British Columbia has with the judiciary, I don't know, but maybe ideas expressed on COV could be of some help. This show will air at 11:00 a. m. Chicago time, that is Central Daylight time, which is 5 hours behind Greenwich.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting indeed. We are miles behind in Canada and a million miles behind in B.C. Here there is pretty much no accountability whatsoever and the judges feel omnipotent. In reality they are either inept or corrupt. Organized criminals get away with murder. Right now the judges here are throwing out good evidence with obscure and distorted abuse of the protection from unnecessary searches and seizures.

Police with a warrant knocked on the front door but after there was no answer and the police at the front door entered, the police at the back door failed to knock so all the massive amounts of evidence seized in that search was thrown out of court.

A know gang member was caught red handed loading 52 kilograms of cocaine from his storage locker on to a truck The judge threw the evidence out saying he would have been out of his f ing mind to keep the drugs in his own locker. Indeed we have criminals on the wrong side of the bench here.

Then there’s the laws themselves. The consequence for violent crime here is shameful.

Not usually. Most of the time I just talk shit. However, this is the case where Catherine Bruce threw out all the evidence because police with a search warrant failed to knock on the back door after they knocked on the front door and there was no answer: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2008/02/06/bc-rebuke.html

And this is the case where Peter Leask, the swearing judge, let a gang member free after police watched him load boxes containing 52 kilograms of cocaine from his storage locker onto a truck: http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/story.html?id=9576786b-6569-4a57-a195-acb56babf200&k=78691

And this one is where Donald Gardiner let one of the Bacon Brothers free: http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/story.html?id=4eac5a2f-2b73-4575-a562-b18d374179d3

Unfortunately, the list goes on forever so it does.
